In the 100th year of the Republic of Türkiye, the only truth we want to reveal with 100 different diving points along the coasts of Türkiye in 100 days is that the Marmara Sea, the only inland sea of our country, is the ‘Last Refuge’. I have attempted to express this fact simply with popular culture stories, statistical data, underwater photographs, images, interviews with relevant experts, and scientific articles. In the ‘Sustainability Adventure from the Marmara Sea to the Mediterranean,’ where we set out to do the undoable, we tried to get closer to the goal of taking care of our future.

We have achieved a first in Türkiye with faith, imagination, courage, and by trusting our instincts. We owe it to ourselves to thank this planet that gives us life, and to know our limits. In this adventure, we conducted observations, research, and interviews both underwater and on the surface of the water. With the interviews, we aimed to reveal a striking truth: it’s high time we made peace with nature.

I hope that through this book, you also come to appreciate the value of the Marmara Sea, become amazed by the incredible marine life it once had, and join our dream of preserving nature and our future.
