A Monday Evening, A Book, A Conversation…

For our March gathering, we’ll meet around Olga Ravn’s The Wax Child at Minoa Pera on March 22, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.

The Wax Child

Shortlisted for the 2025 International Booker Prize, Olga Ravn’s The Wax Child transforms the Danish witch trials into an eerie, hypnotic tale of fear, power, and female solidarity.

About Minoa Book Club:

Some books stay with us long after we turn the final page. And some become even richer when we talk about them together.

This season, we’ll meet once a month on Monday evenings (7:00–8:30 PM) at Minoa Pera to read, think, question, disagree, discover, and simply enjoy talking about good books.

Our reading list takes us across countries, cultures, and very different ways of telling a story: from letters that reveal the hidden shape of a life to love and loneliness; from artificial intelligence and what it means to be human to the complexities of motherhood; from art under dictatorship to witch trials, martyrdom, identity, and the mysteries of performance.

22 March 2027 – The Wax Child by Olga Ravn

19 April 2027 – Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar

24 May 2027 – Audition by Katie Kitamura

You don’t need to be a literary expert. Bring the book, your curiosity, your questions, and perhaps a passage you loved, or hated. The best conversations often begin when we don’t all read the same book in quite the same way.

Once a month. Monday evenings. Minoa Pera.

Come for the books; stay for the conversation.

Minoa Book Club is hosted by Dr. F. Zeynep Bilge.

The event is held in English.

Tea and water will be served during the session and are included in the session price.

Please kindly note that the book is not included and can be purchased separately.
